Marilyn (Campbell) Osborne passed away peacefully on the evening of September 11, 2021 at the age of 89.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, John, and her 3 siblings, and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jane, and son, Grant. She also leaves behind two adored grandsons, Nicholas and Keiran.
Marilyn was born in 1932 in Digby, Nova Scotia. She grew up the youngest of 4 and after high school worked as a secretary for a local doctor. Two years after she successfully recovered from polio she was selected from the many Nova Scotia “princesses” and crowned Queen Annapolisa XX of the Apple Blossom Festival.
She followed her 2 older sisters out to Vancouver where, while working as a cardiology technician, she met her husband, Dr. John Osborne, who was head of diagnostic services at the Cardiology Department of VGH.
Marilyn loved being a mother to 2 children while endlessly volunteering in the community. She was always open, welcoming, and concerned for the welfare of others. She moved to South Granville Park Lodge in Vancouver 21 years ago and became a very well known and beloved resident. She will long be remembered for her love of the arts, sense of class and style, interest in current events and stimulating conversations, warm and engaging personality, and, most of all, love for and devotion to family.
South Granville Park Lodge became Marilyn’s home and the family would especially like to thank the lodge staff for their years of service, care, and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations to CARE Canada would be appreciated.
