Vibrant, passionate, full of life, Margaret engaged the world fully throughout a long and rich life. Deeply committed to community service, she was a trail blazer for women in business, politics and the arts. A graduate of the University of British Columbia she was an art historian and expert on the Canadian artist Frederick Arthur Verner, including creating an exhibit of his works for the National Gallery of Canada that traveled across the country. She founded Canadian Management Research Associates where she worked in public relations and business journalism for many years. Later in her career she founded and led Western Canada Water, a bottled water company that she took public on the Toronto Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. She was active politically and throughout her life was a leader in many civic and community organizations.

The beloved daughter of Walter and Grace McOuat, she was born in Winnipeg September 8, 1930. Her family was the center of her life and she deeply loved her large extended clan. She is mourned by her son Bill and daughter in law Valerie, son Kevin, daughter Deirdre, grandsons Andrew Annett and Kieran Annett, and granddaughters Clare McNamee-Annett and Elinor McNamee-Annett.

Whoever she touched, their life was richer.

Wherever she went, she made things better.

Whenever she was with us, she took us deeper.
