When she was 5 years old the family moved to New Westminster, BC. When she was 15 years old, she met the love of her life, Jim Douglas. They had been married 62 years when Jim passed away in 2003. Marg and Jim moved to Burnaby in 1955 where they enjoyed many happy times with family and friends. In 1969 they built their beautiful home in Mazatlan, Mexico. Marg traveled there for the last time in 2019. She was a very good athlete during her life. She participated in basketball, track and field, lacrosse - both box and field - bowling, and soft ball. She excelled in every sport she participated in and probably would have done quite well up to today. In 1955 she joined the Vancouver Golf Club. She loved golf and it showed by her volunteering for may activities including serving as Team Captain. She won the Women's Club Championship in 1988 and played her last game of golf at 94. In Mazatlan she played golf at Campestre and El Cid and also discovered bridge. She spent many hours knitting shawls to be donated to the Rally for the Cure raising both money and breast cancer awareness for the women of Mazatlan. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Marg moved to Thornbridge in New Westminster in 2015. She loved her new home and participated in as many activities as she could. She loved to dance and sing and, especially, Friday Happy Hour. A Celebration of Marg's Life will be held at the Vancouver Golf Club, 771 Austin Avenue, Coquitlam, BC from 1- 4 pm on Sunday August 11, 2019.
