It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret (Marg), wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was born in Saskatoon in 1925 and lived most of her adult life in Vancouver. Marg will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jack Duns, her sons Bob, Doug (Leilani), Jim (Judy), and Steve (Maureen) and her daughter Jane (Steven) as well as her step-daughters Jocelyn (Peter), Lorraine (Terry), Janine (Rob) and Pat (Eamonn) and step-son Dave (Andrea), and grandchildren and great-grandchildren too numerous to list. Marg was married to Orville (Orv) Gormican until his death in 1980. Her family of 5 children was doubled when she later married.Jack. To everyone's amazement, she could always remember the names and ages of all of their combined grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marg was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception church in Dunbar since the 1950s and was frequently involved in church activities. In addition to that and the complexities of raising 5 children, she was an avid bridge player and continued with regular games with "the ladies" until very recently. She and Orv went camping with all their kids almost every summer. Free of kids living at home, she and Jack travelled extensively, including numerous cruises, car trips to Tofino and flights to Hawaii and Portugal. The family sends a special thanks to the caring medical staff at Vancouver General Hospital who looked after her in her final weeks. Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church on West 28th in Vancouver on Friday, October 8 at 1:00 pm. Attendees to be fully vaccinated and masks are required in the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and the Yukon.
