It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marco Gustavo D’Amici. Marco passed away peacefully at home on November 28th, 2023, after a courageous battle with ALS.

To Marco, family meant everything. He will be remembered as a loving husband to Debbie; a proud dad to Daniella and Olivia; devoted son to Rita and Tony (father predeceased); caring brother to Cinzia (Vito); son-in-law to Pat and Terry (father-in-law predeceased); brother-in-law to Sandra (Darcy) and Greg (Deanna), and the best uncle to Carly, Ashley, Matteo, Emily, Keira, Makenna, Adelyn and Klein. He was the most fun-loving family member to his cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Marco was raised in Burnaby, BC, always surrounded by family and friends, creating so many wonderful memories. Known as everyone’s favourite Bello, Marco was a dear friend to many. He took pride in the life-long friendships made, always holding them close to his heart.

Marco was an accomplished businessman, with many stories for each experience. With every business venture, his colleagues became family.

Marco could often be found on his street with a drink in hand. His short strolls around the block would take upwards of an hour, as he always chatted with neighbours and others passing by. He brought this presence to his daughter’s dance community, always taking care of others, he loved his role as a dance dad. He touched many lives with his genuine warmth and giving heart.

Marco had a magnetic personality; he knew everyone and everyone knew him. He had the most infectious smile, always greeting others with a warm “Hi Bella” or “Hi Bello”. Marco’s unwavering love and support for others never went unnoticed. Even during his ongoing battle, he took care in asking how you were doing. He was the best in all of us, leading with love, sincerity, and generosity.

Marco will always be remembered for his passionate love of life.  His legacy of living with laughter and joy will continue through his family and anyone lucky enough to know him.
