Marcello passed away in his sleep on February 21, 2023, at the age of 96.
He was born in Treviso, Italy on April 12, 1926, and immigrated to Canada in 1954 in search of a better life for his new family, with his wife and infant son. In 1959, he joined the Laborers’ International Union of North America where remained a member for over 60 years.
Marcello is predeceased by his loving wife Duilia and son Renato. He leaves behind to grieve his son Lucio (Elsa), grandson Jordan (Paige) and family; and grandson Dylan, as well as many relatives and friends both here and overseas. He was especially close to his niece Renata (Tony) and family, niece Ivana, and nephew Claudio.
Marcello loved gardening and sharing his many skills with others.
There will be visitation on Monday February 27 between 6pm and 8pm at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver on Tuesday February 28, 2023, at 12 noon. Entombment to follow at South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby.
