Malcolm Clement Da Silva passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 13, 2024, after enduring a brave battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, three sons Damian, Marcel, and Shaun, and grandchildren Michaela, Tao, Troy, and Ruben.
Malcolm was born November 23, 1939, in Pouderoyen, Guyana as the fourth of six children to catholic parents Jose and Marie Da Silva. After getting married and beginning what would be a successful career, he moved to Canada in search of a new journey with his young family of four.
Malcolm helped raise his three sons after finding sanctuary in a quiet south Langley home that will be remembered by his children as a springboard for life and adventure. His Catholic faith endured throughout his lifetime as a member of Precious Blood Parish in Cloverdale, and later with St. Joseph’s Parish in Langley. He volunteered much of his time to the parish in ways that would embody his resolute nature and devotion to the church.
He touched the hearts of those around him with his subtle humour and kind tenderness and will be remembered dearly by those who knew him well.
Malcolm will be celebrated with Viewing at 10:00am and Funeral Mass at 11:00am on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Saint Joseph’s Parish in Langley – 20676 Fraser Hwy, Langley. Please join us for a gathering and refreshments in the reception hall following the service. Interment will later proceed at 2:00 pm at Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery – 15694 32 Ave. Surrey, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, we would like to welcome offerings in memory of Malcom Da Silva to St. Michael’s Hospice, Burnaby B.C. or to the B.C. Cancer Foundation for Prostate Cancer Research.
