Madeleine Marguerite Alice Pelletreau passed away peacefully on Nov 2nd ,2020 at the Royal Arch Masonic Home in Vancouver, BC. Madeleine was born January 13, 1933 in Chaumont, Haute Marne, France. She is predeceased by her husband Jean Pelletreau. They were married on June 9th, 1954 in Le Tablier, Vendee, France. Madeleine emigrated to Canada to join Jean at the newly constructed town of Kitimat, BC. After three years and one child they moved to Vancouver to raise a large family. Madeleine Marguerite will be lovingly missed by her 6 children, Madeleine (Steve), Marianne, John, (Yvonne), Paul, (Rhonda), Catherine, (Wayne), and Marc. She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren, Emily, (Jeremy), Brad, (Jen), Julianna, (Janos), Camille, Danielle, (Sean), Valerie, Erin, (Brandon), Michelle, Matt, (Haley) and Monica. She will be missed most especially by her great grand-children: Emily, Ava, Jean-Paul, Desmond and Layla. Madeleine was a devout Catholic and always a faithful servant of the Church, working as a Catechism instructor in communities in B.C. and Connecticut. She was especially proud of supporting a young man’s journey from India to become an ordained priest in North America, and numerous church charities throughout her life. Madeleine was a lover of French cooking, needle work, her garden and the V.S.O. She used her enthusiasm for the arts to create appreciation and joy for others throughout her life.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday Dec. 2nd, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Richmond B.C. Only family may attend due to Covid-19 restrictions, but prayers are most welcome. We would welcome donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation to honour her memory. https://www.heartandstroke.ca/
