Lynn Patricia Olive Meredith

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Lynn passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2024. Lynn was predeceased by siblings William, Beverley and Leslie. She is survived by siblings Gail and David, sisters-in-law Shirley and Linda, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lynn was born in Ottawa, and lived in several cities as a young girl, due to her father being an RCAF officer. Eventually, her family settled in Comox, where Lynn finished high school and made many life-long friends. She then moved to Victoria to become a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. Lynn later earned her BSc in Nursing and Masters in Adult Education at UBC and became a nursing instructor at BCIT. In 1975 Lynn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and lived with this debilitating disease with courage and grace. 

Lynn became a tireless advocate for people with disabilities. Working with both the MS Society and BC Transit training operators, in best practices to assist disabled riders. Lynn enjoyed swimming and yoga, visiting friends and family along with the opera, theatre and music performances. 

Special thanks is given to Lynn’s team of dedicated care givers who made her life more enjoyable, comfortable and safe for the past 50 years. The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to Irma for her many years of friendship and support to Lynn. 

A Memorial Service will be held in honour of Lynn's life at Kearney Funeral Services Vancouver Chapel (450 West 2nd Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Y 1E2) on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 2:00pm.
