Lucy was granted her angels wings and lovingly accepted into the hands of God's kingdom on March 18, 2017 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 95.
Lucy raised 6 children as a single parent when her husband Gerard Morrissey predeceased her in 1967. She always held firm in her beliefs that no matter how difficult things became God would provide, and He always did.
Lucy is lovingly survived by 4 sons; Michael, Bill, Allan, Patrick; daughter, Lucy; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Jim in 1999; and by her parents, Gaston and Marie de la Giroday.
Lucy was born in Vancouver, BC, August 19, 1921. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help elementary school, then went on to graduate high school at Little Flower Academy. One of Mom's favorite stories was that she and her Dad picked up the sisters at the train station in Vancouver when they arrived to open the brand new school at OLPH. Upon entering the school with the nuns they officially declared her "the first pupil" which she was very proud of, and spoke of often throughout our lives. We all became very accustomed to hearing the same stories over and over again!
Lucy was very active in both of her parish churches, St. Augustine’s and OLPH. Her religion was extremely important to her and helped her through the many challenges she experienced in her lifetime.
