Passed away peacefully on July 5, 2020 in the Kelowna Hospice House at the age of 80, after a short courageous battle with cancer. Born June 14, 1940 in Lippstadt, Germany and was predeceased by his mother, Josefa Heinrich in 1997. Lothar Immigrated to Canada in 1971 and became a permanent resident. He cherished his relationship with his mother, and she joined him in Canada residing in Surrey, BC. Lothar brought the brand Warsteiner to Canada and became the National importer for this country. He led his life as a true honest businessman, when a hand shake confirmed the deal. Lothar was very well known in the Hotel, Food and Hospitality industry making numerous acquaintances, turning into friendships, many of which have lasted for over 40 years. One of his proudest moments is when he retired and attended the BC Hotel and Hospitality Convention in Vancouver. He was honoured for his dedication and hard work for not only in British Columbia but across Canada, receiving standing ovations showing their appreciation. Upon his retirement, Lothar relocated to his Okanagan retreat in Peachland at the Terraces. It was here that he made wonderful new friendships and provided German inspired cuisine with beautiful local wines, which he so much enjoyed. Thank you to the Kelowna Hospice House, Kelowna Cancer Clinic, and the entire palliative team for the wonderful and compassionate care that Lothar received for the past six months. Lothar will be missed but the memories will be everlasting. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society. Cheers Lothar!!!
