Liam John Burch died unexpectedly on September 30th at the age of 37. He is lovingly remembered by his parents Jane Harvey and Mark Burch (Donna MacDonald); his brothers Joel Burch (Mary Moreau) and Simon Burch; his nieces Beatrice, Esther and Greta; his grandmother Jean Burch; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins – Craig, Susan, Amy and Jesse Burch; Anne Harvey, Peter Wall, Emily and Patrick Wall; Barb Kerr and Peter Thillaye, Mattia and Rowan Thillaye Kerr; and Sue Harvey and Burke Taylor. Liam was fiercely passionate about his family and totally dedicated to them.
A talented cook and athlete, Liam was reinventing himself over the past 6 years for a career in the world of finance; recently completing a degree in Accounting. His Don Draper good looks – a description his older brother Joel will continue to use – were remarked on by everyone who met him. Liam was happiest with a tennis racket in his hand, swinging a club on the golf course, surfing Cox Bay, Tofino, or mastering the Saudan Couloir at Whistler.
Private family celebrations will take place in Toronto and Tofino. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to Medecins sans Frontieres https://www.msf.org/donate or the Raincoast Education Society https://raincoasteducation.org/donate.
The following is a recipe for tortellini salad, Liam’s favourite, and one he requested every year for his birthday dinner. http://thenotsoclevercook.blogspot.com/2013/08/tortellini-pasta-salad-way-to-sons-heart.html. Liam would want you to enjoy!
