On May 23, our mother passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with scleroderma and we are grateful that her suffering has ended. Predeceased by her father, Capt. C.N. Sawle (l953) and her mother Frances L. Boultbee (2006).
She leaves behind her two daughters: Jennifer Hill (Scott), Madeleine, Gabrielle and Cameron and Angela Keith (Norm), Nickolas, Samantha and Emma. As well as her best friend, dear sister, and identical twin Linda Redmond. Missing her are cousin, Fran (Gary); and nephews, Kyle Redmond (Ruby), Jeff Redmond (Joelle) and their families.
Leslie will be remembered for her storytelling, piano playing, entertaining, and fabulous cooking. She was a voracious information seeker and loved current events, reading the paper and listening to the radio. She was happiest on a beach and all the better if it was Waikiki with a Mai Tai in her hand.
She loved travel and worked in the early days as a stewardess for Canadian Air. She had a well-respected career as a real estate broker on the West Side with Coldwell Banker.
We are thankful for her caregiving team; Mina, Nelia, Lei, Cristy, and Cathy and her wonderful friends and neighbours in Mayfair House who gave her so much comfort and companionship.
We appreciated Dr. Fiona Duncan who was always there for Mom and the Vancouver Coastal Health Palliative Care team.
