Tan Lee Ping
Passed away peacefully on the 13th of January 2025 at the age of 95,
Tan Lee Ping came from humble beginnings in Alor Setar, Malaysia. She was the third daughter of a family of ten and was determined to establish herself in the small town she grew up in.
A woman ahead of her time, Lee Ping dreamed of being an entrepreneur, so she traveled to Thailand and trained as a tailor. She then returned to Malaysia to start her tailoring school. There, she refined her skills and trained other young women in her town.
As a mother, she encouraged her children to explore and seize opportunities far and wide, always believing in the power of hard work and perseverance. In her later years, she devoted her time to looking after her grandchildren, ensuring that Chinese culture and traditions were passed down to future generations. Her influence extended beyond her family, she touched the lives of many with her strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
She is remembered as a generous, resolute, progressive mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.
