ROONEY, Kevin Joseph " Kevin’s heartbroken family announces his death on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 from cancer at the young age of 58.  He was born on June 15, 1950 in Montreal to Julian and Teresa (nee Murphy), who predeceased him.  Kevin will be forever loved by his wife of almost 29 years, Anna (nee Scharing), his daughter Caroline, his son Michael, his sister Colleen (Sean Eagleton), brothers Frank (Diane), Leo (Mary), and Gary, his sister-in-law Barbara Scharing (Stephane Riendeau), and family pets Kayla, Alfie and Milo.  We will miss his strength and leadership, acerbic wit, his intelligence, and ability to make any discussion lively, his financial genius, his love and caring for his family and most of all, for his amazing ability to fix or build anything.  His pride and joy was the home he carefully renovated and maintained himself .  He was especially proud of  the unique garage he designed and built.  His thriftiness was legendary " he would use duct tape to repair a favorite pair of shoes, and once arrived for an overnight stay with friends with his belongings in a brown paper bag.  The family would like to thank the many friends, neighbours and co-workers and employers who offered their support during the past 5 years.  Special thanks to Drs Raudzus, Fritz, Hay, Wu, Chia.  We are deeply grateful to Dr. Ginzberg and the outstanding nursing staff at St. Paul’s Palliative Care for their tender loving care.   Thank you to Orlando for his kindness and support, and to Dyann and her team.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Salvation Army.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2465 Crown St. (at W. 10th), Vancouver, BC on what would have been Anna & Kevin’s 29th wedding anniversary. Cremation.  Interment at Mountainview Cemetery at a later date.

and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence; And I can hear naught
but the music of Eternity in exact harmony with the spirit’s desires.  I
