New Westminster-Kevin H. Snider survived cancer over forty years. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario he passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Lovingly survived by father Harold and Mother Rena (Freeman), sister Brenda (Poaps) and brother-in law Don. He is survived by niece and nephew Kim and Tim Poaps and Great niece Brooklynn Poaps of Jasper, Alberta. Many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that were like brothers and sisters residing in Ontario, Vancouver, United States. He was predeceased by Grandparents Snider and Freeman of Ontario. Kevin met Terry Fox in Hamilton Ontario when Terry was on his run. Kevin worked for the Federal Government for 23 years in Vancouver and he was called the Gentle Giant. Kevin was involved with many friends with singles' groups events involving many churches. He took the minutes for the Free Methodist Church Board. After he tore up his knee in a fall Kevin got around on a wheelchair then scooter. He enjoyed touring around and watching the big ships dock in Vancouver. Kevin also liked trying the food and attending the concerts at the PNE as Kevin loved food and music. He liked to make up songs about events and made up a poem about Singles' Mingles. He enjoyed helping and visiting family. He went to see Elton John in concert on Elton's last tour. He was able to go to Toronto 2 years ago after starting treatment for Multiple Myeloma staying in the University of Toronto dorms for 2 1/2 months on his scooter. Even the last day before he died, he was talking about getting on his scooter. Kevin described himself as adventurous, considerate, humorous and helpful. He was not a complainer for sure.
