BREDIN, Kera Alexandria. With great sadness we share that Kera Bredin passed away peacefully with her family around her on Thursday September 13, 2018 at the age of 89. Kera was born and grew up in Vancouver and graduated from the VGH nursing program and nursed in Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco and Ottawa before returning to Vancouver. Kera was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. All who knew her will remember her caring nature and loving ways. Kera was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Victorina, her sister, Veronica (Bill) and her first husband Tom. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Patrick, children Mark (Debra), Andrei (Shauna), Ariadna (Kevin), Katherine, Natasha, grandchildren Danielle (Mike), Brian, Allison (Scott), Katryna, Alexander, Connor, Keiran, Zachary and her great granddaughter, Emily as well as many nieces and nephews in the US and Ireland. Kera was an active member of the Russian and Orthodox Community in Vancouver, Kera was well known for her love of cooking, and her pronouncement of "it's a new recipe" to those seated at the table and her encouraging others to take 3rd and 4th helpings. Her love of entertaining and celebrating any occasion was something she was born to do.
Deep, heartfelt thanks to the clinical staff at Mount St. Joseph's hospital for their genuine, caring and compassionate care for Kera. Warm thanks to long-time neighbours Julie, Doug and Aiden for all they have done for Kera over the years.
Funeral to be held at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church (710 Campbell Ave. Vancouver BC) on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 10am with burial afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kera's memory to your favoured charity would be greatly appreciated.
