Kenneth Robert Holloway of 93 years recently passed away on Oct 8, 2018 at the George Derby Center, a retirement residence for Veterans.
Ken was a long-time resident in the Sunrise area of Vancouver, where he lived for many years close to Trout Lake. Always a man of solitude, Ken lived a rather remarkable life and will be remembered as a practical man with a great deal of common sense, resourcefulness, and some working knowledge of just about everything. Ken will be remembered as a gardener, artist, jeweller, golfer, ballroom dancer, hockey enthusiast, and a dreamer of restoring his beloved Volvo. Ken was a WW2 Vet as well as a long time BC Liquor employee. Ken is survived by his brother Norman Holloway of Ladner BC and sister Kathleen Aller of Vancouver BC. Ken was pre-deceased by his sister Patricia Mansfield of Vancouver and brother Percy Holloway of Ladner and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenny was a unique individual, a good neighbor, a good son, brother and Uncle. The family would like to thank George Derby Center for the loving care provided to Ken in the last years of his life. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held on Wednesday Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 6th Street, New Westminster.
