It is with great sorrow we announce that Kelly suddenly passed away on September 28th.
Kelly was born in Richmond B.C. the youngest of eight children. Kelly is predeceased by his father Howard and brother Bob. Kelly leaves behind his wife Laura, their children Raiden and Danika, his mother Vivian, his siblings: Mike, Debbie, Gary, Richard, Ron and Steve and their families, his favorite cat Chester and the bane of his existence the family dog Zoey. Kelly will also be missed by Laura’s extended family and many friends.
Kelly was a proud graduate of UBC commerce and spent nearly his entire career at Chevron Canada, now Parkland Fuel Corporation.
Kelly was proudest of Raiden and Danika. Everything he did and all he accomplished was for them and because of them. Through his children, his legacy lives on.
Kelly was involved for many years with Burnaby Minor Hockey Association, at first as an enthusiastic parent of Raiden- he never missed a practice or a game - and in the past 4 years he served on the executive board. Kelly also served on the executive board as president for Danika’s synchronized swim club, Burnaby Caprice when Danika first began swimming.
Kelly will be remembered for his diplomacy, intelligence, grace and dedication, all of which made him a natural leader - someone that people trusted to follow, and he didn’t fail their expectations. Most of all Kelly will be remembered for his incredible sense of humour. Everyone who knew him can’t help but to keep his memory alive by recalling a time that that they shared a laugh with Kelly - there will be no shortage of those memories for those who knew him.
Please join us in celebrating Kelly’s life, that although far too short for those of us left behind, was a life well lived and full of many accomplishments, friends, and good memories
A celebration of life will be held on October 19 at 4:00 pm at the Villa Amato Ballroom; 88 East 1st Avenue, 3rd floor, Vancouver.
Rest in Peace our beloved husband father and friend.
