Kay Cowtan passed away peacefully on February 5, 2021 at the age of 93 after a short stay in hospital. Both of her daughters were able to be with her during that time and they were with her at her bedside when she passed.

Predeceased by loving husband Tom Cowtan, sister Elaine Hunter and brother Dick Radcliffe.  Lovingly survived by her daughters Janet Elaine Aston (Ron) of Picton, Ontario, and Pamela Mary Cowtan of Cranbrook, BC; two grandchildren, Sarah Jean Benevides (Anthony) of Markham, Ontario and Matthew Thomas Aston (Colleen Viertelhausen) of Ottawa, Ontario; and her four great-grandchildren, Carson Benevides, Audrey Benevides, Andrew Aston and Luke Aston.  Kay treasured her close ties to family members and dear friends whose love and care brought her joy and whose calls and visits, especially during the last year, made the isolation of pandemic restrictions easier to bear.

Kay’s ashes will be buried next to her dear husband Tom’s at Pender Island Cemetery.  A celebration of her life will be held this coming summer in Vancouver with a date scheduled dependent on pandemic restrictions for gathering.
