Karl Medlicott died peacefully on January 26, 2024, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the age of sixty-three. He is predeceased by his mother, Molly, and father, John Medlicott. Lovingly remembered by his brothers, Stefan Medlicott (wife, Leslie) and Illya Medlicott (wife, Jo-Ann.) He is sadly missed by his wife, Laurel, as well as extended family, (Lesley, Shawn, Benett & Fisher Zawasky) and (Lochlin, Deborah, Natasha, & Ryley Krauss.)
Karl was a quiet man, a life-long scholar, with a flypaper memory that never failed to amaze friends and family. A collector of antiquarian books, he loved literature and all things British. He had an eclectic set of passions, which included philosophy, typography, music (new and classical), fine art, ancient history, theology, medieval artifacts and modern technology.
A family gathering will be held in his honour at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint John Hospice, 6389 Stadium Rd., Vancouver BC V6T 1Z4.
