Karl Ottokar Dech, born May 6, 1930, in Horocholina, Poland, passed away on November 11, 2024, in Langley, BC. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara, Karl is survived by his two sons, Mark (Laura) Dech and Gary (Liz) Dech, along with his cherished grandchildren, Kelsey, Jackson, and Alyssa. Karl was a dedicated accountant and was well respected in the conveyor belting industry as a proud and successful business owner of Western Belting. Always a consummate gentleman with a kind and engaging demeanor, Karl had a unique ability to make those around him feel welcomed and comfortable. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, particularly a very dry martini or a cold gin and tonic. His community involvement included leadership roles as a Boy Scout leader and District Scouting Commissioner. He was also an active member of the Rotary Club and generously supported various charities throughout his life. Karl's warm spirit and genuine kindness will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
