It is with great sadness we announce the passing of June at the age of 82, surrounded by her family at Langley Lodge, Langley, BC. June was born to Les and Fern Duncton in Winnipeg, Manitoba. June was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Bernard (Doc), her son Paul, and survived by her children; Kevin (Maria), Valerie (Brian), Linda (Dale), Leon (Karen), Lyle (Leah); sisters, Fern Balcaen, Carol (Duncton), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
June’s long-standing struggle with Alzheimer’s never wavered her kindness, and thoughtfulness to those around her. Everyone knew her name and her bright smile. Sitting idle was never an option, there were places to go and people to see. Her love and enjoyment of music always made her smile and sing along even in her final days.
Her grace, thoughtfulness, kindness and loving presence will be so greatly missed.
A Catholic service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 am, located
at St. Nicholas Church, 20675 87th Ave, Langley, BC, followed by a reception in the Church hall.
We wish to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Langley Lodge for the exceptional care and support provided to mom. It is evident they genuinely care for each and every resident.
In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to the Alzheimer’s Society and/or Langley Lodge.
