With deep love and sadness, we announce the death of Judi Brock. Judi was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on September 10, 1946, and passed away on September 25, 2023, in Vancouver, BC.

Judi settled in Lantzville, BC, and raised three sons on her own. During those years, she attended college to become a registered nurse. She then worked overnight shifts in a care home so she could be available for her sons during the day, driving them to and from sporting events. Judi’s life was dotted with unimaginable tragedy, including the passing of her eldest son Ryan in 1989. Her strength and resilience are truly unmatched. Despite it all, Judi dedicated her life to caring for others both personally and professionally. The number of people who considered Judi a second mother is a testament to her warm and welcoming heart. The entrance to her home in Lantzville was always full of visitors’ shoes, and her snack supply seemed bottomless.

Judi enjoyed golfing, adventuring with her granddaughters, and gathering with friends, like the Walkie-Talkies. She also volunteered at her church. Judi was a talented artist, particularly good at painting and drawing.

Judi is survived by sons Layne Brock and Warren (Lindsay) Brock, sister Paulette Lean, brothers Ed (Joan) Sansregret and Rene (Brenda) Sansregret, sister-in-law Maureen Sansregret, and many nieces and nephews, but was particularly close with her niece Cheryl (Tom) Lean-Droppo. She is missed immensely by the lights of her life, granddaughters Amelia, Tessa, and Alora Brock. Judi was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Marion Sansregret, brother Lou Sansregret, brother-in-law Terry Lean, nephew Lee Sansregret, niece Marla Doke, and her beloved son Ryan Brock.

At her request, there will not be a service. Instead, please play a round of golf, enjoy a slice of cheesecake, or take a moment of reflection by a body of water in her honour.
