Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle & friend, passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2022, at the age of 69.

Born November 8, 1952, he was Junior to his siblings and parents, Johnny to his friends, colleagues, and SJ fraternity brothers, Bolo or Lolo Johnny to his grandchildren, and Daddy to his children.

He graduated in Industrial Engineering at the University of the Philippines and attended UST high school and Project 6 Quezon City Elementary school.

He applied his education to supervisory and management positions in the manufacturing sector, among them with JR Garments in the Philippines, CG Pauwels in Winnipeg, and most recently Vanrx in Burnaby.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Maria Angelita ‘Mayette’, children Kim (Pierre Cruz), Geno (Ayumi), Tanya (Jason Wilkins), Jamie, and Kismet; grandchildren Aya, Marcus, Kei, and Emi; and 10 siblings. He is pre-deceased by his parents Juan Sr. and Maria.

He will be missed by his SJ brods, friends, golf buddies in Winnipeg, but most of all, his family.

The Gomez family would like to extend our gratitude to Manitoba and BC Cancer Care for providing his ongoing treatments, and to all the doctors, nurses, RTs, HCAs, and PTs who attended to our beloved Johnny during his 18-day confinement at Burnaby Hospital.

The viewing is on Wednesday, June 15, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Kearney Burnaby Chapel 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16, 10:00 am at St Helen’s Parish 3860 Triumph Street, Burnaby, BC followed by burial at Pacific Heritage Cemetery 4305 Halifax Street, Burnaby, BC.
