After a brief illness, Joyce passed away peacefully on December 6, 2011 at the Windermere Care Centre with her son Kim & her niece Kathy by her side. She was 86 years old. Special thanks to the 8th Floor Windermere nurses & aides for the kindness & comforting care they gave to Joyce during her final hours. Your support & thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. Joyce touched the lives of many and will be remembered with great love and respect. She always made life a little better for those around her. Funeral Service & reception will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Centre for Peace, 1825 W 16th Ave, Vancouver. Rev. Dennis Morgan will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to BCSPCA.

Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there, I do not sleep.  I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn rain.  When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush.

Of quiet birds in circled flight.  I am the soft star that shines at night.  Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die.
