A lifelong pilgrim, Joveno began his final journey to his true homeland on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 3, 2016. After a brief stay in Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, he returned to Our Lord.

A native of the Philippines, he graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Law School and enjoyed a successful career in government and law. A dedicated family man, Joveno was also a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Burnaby and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as a Grand Knight. Beyond his devotion to his Catholic faith and to his family, he also actively volunteered in the parish community, was a longstanding member of Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, and was a keen traveler from a young age, traveling throughout Asia, the Americas, Europe and Africa.

Joveno is survived by his beloved wife, children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish and be grateful for his generous and loving spirit, humour and intellect, ardent faith and devotion to family.

His family offers their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care of the professional staff of Royal Columbian Hospital, the faith leadership of Reverend Nicolas Tumbelaka of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, and the whole OLM community, as well as countless family and friends for their kind and thoughtful support. Last but not least, we are grateful to Michelle Vizena and the Columbia-Bowell team for their exceptional service and warm professionalism in coordinating Joveno’s funeral service.
