Ing, Joseph Yan-Kit passed away surrounded by family on April 6, 2024, in Vancouver General Hospital as a result of complications from his battle with cancer. He was 74.
He will be sadly missed by Theresa, his wife and life partner for 50 years. He will be lovingly remembered by Andrew, his eldest son, Amanda his daughter-in-law, and grandsons Alastair and Angus. He will also be lovingly remembered by Thomas, his youngest son.
Joseph was an avid golfer and enjoyed the ocean waters, where he fished and snorkelled, and the great outdoors where he camped and enjoyed campfires. He enjoyed travelling around the world with Theresa his wife, and visited numerous cities and countries. He was a caring and pleasant man who volunteered countless hours at the church, where he brought up his family in the Catholic faith. Joseph was a Professional Engineer (Electrical) and completed his Engineering degree at the University of British Columbia.
Vigil Prayers will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 22 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish (Vancouver).
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 23 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish (Vancouver) followed by a Catholic burial at the Gardens of Gethsemani (Surrey).
