Joseph Bell aged 75, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, dear friend, as well as an outstanding coach and mentor.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Joe lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. He was known for his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and unwavering generosity.
Joe worked as a pipe fitter for 48 years where he was respected for his dedication and hard work. He approached every task with diligence and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
In his free time, Joe loved coaching football finding solace and joy in the simple moments spent on the pitch with family and friends. His passion and dedication to the soccer community in New Westminster was unmatched and his players and teams all will remember him fondly. This was particularly demonstrated when some of his former player reunited to say their farewells in his final days. His dedication to the game was a lifetime commitment and his love for the Glasgow Rangers was always present.
Joe will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Elizabeth Bell, his children Karyn Bell, Joseph Bell and Marilyn Meilleur as well his grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.
A funeral service to honour and celebrate the life of Joseph will be held at Kearney Funeral Services, 219-6th Street, New Westminster, on October 25th at 11am: viewing followed by a service at 12pm. Reception with snacks and refreshments at 2pm at Centennial Lodge (Queens Park, New Westminster).
