Jose Gomes passed away peacefully December 14, 2017 with his loving wife by his side, at the age of 89 years.  Jose was born on the island of Flores, Azores, Portugal. Predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Celeste Gomes in 2003 and brother Albino in 2017. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughters and sons-in-law: Maria Antonio (Nuno), Fernanda (Reda), Celeste (Kirk), and Laura: grandchildren: Peter  (Natalie), Kurtis (Megan), Jessica (Dave), and Katherine; Great-grandchildren: Jadis and Niana; sister Maria: sister-in-law Maria Antonia, Etelvina, and Palmira, many nieces and nephews, cousins and many family friends. Prayers were offered Thursday, December 21st, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial which was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Catholic Church, 1423 East 13th in Vancouver, BC. Entombment at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
