John passed away on October 1, 2012 in Vancouver at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen. He is survived by six children and 3 grandchildren. John was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan and moved to BC when he was a young man. He worked in various locations across Canada from Ontario to the Yukon. He worked in placer mining, construction, and as a personal chauffer. Cheerful and likeable, John was a hard worker who enjoyed helping people. From fixing their cars to house repairs, he was appreciated by many. From tree falling to repairing old radios, he enjoyed getting the job done. He also enjoyed dancing and music. Musically inclined, he played the violin, harmonica, and accordion. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Grateful thanks to the staff of the NICU ward at Vancouver General Hospital. A Funeral Service officiated by Mr. Ken Wood will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Celebration Hall, Mountain View Cemetery, 5455 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
