It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. John died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of 56 years. His seven children; Angela, Susan, Christopher, Anthony, Paul, Sarah and Andrew, along with their spouses and his eighteen grandchildren, will forever cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Molly Waller and his brother Tom. He will be greatly missed by his brother Richard and family in England.
John served the Burnaby/New Westminster community as a Veterinarian for over thirty years. He spent countless volunteer hours contributing to his church. As the President of the Federation of Independent Schools Association he worked tirelessly to obtain government funding for Independent Schools and he was honoured to receive the "Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice" medal from Pope Paul VI for his achievements. He was a founding member of Corpus Christi College on the U.B.C campus and he served on St. Mary's Hospital Board in New Westminster for many years. He was an inspirational leader to all who knew him. His family is especially thankful for the constant love, support and guidance he so willingly shared throughout his life.
Sincere thanks to Dr. John Yun, Dr. Wally Rebeyka, Nurse Elizabeth and her team for their wonderful support and care throughout John’s illness.
