It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Phelps. Jack was born in Fort William (now Thunderbay), Ontario to Dorothy J. Phelps (nee Wells) and Thomas H. Phelps.
Jack graduated Electrical Engineering at UNB in 1957. He became a Professional Engineer in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. His career allowed him to satisfy his desire for travel, having worked on every continent except the Antarctic. Jack took a sabbatical from his profession to raise beef cattle near Athens, Ontario, where he also taught at St. Lawrence College. He was pleased to use his engineering background to tweak the farm equipment so well that the local dealers would visit him for advice. Later in life Jack chose B.C. as his home base and retired there.
Jack is survived by his sister Margaret Paproski (Dennis), Michael (Debbie), Peter, Mary Blacker (Richard), grandson Matthew and former wives Shirley Phelps and Irene Ango.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, but certainly not forgotten.
