Born November 4, 1914 in Northern Saskatchewan, he passed away peacefully in the Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster on January 3, 2010.
Predeceased by his wife Betty. Morrison McVea was a well known educator in New Westminster having taught for many years at New Westminster Secondary School. Morrison McVea influenced the life of many young students, inspiring them to reach their potential.

An avid outdoors person and photographer he also loved and had an affinity with all animal, especially horses, dogs, cats and birds.

He was a long time resident of New Westminster and one of the founding members of the BC Reform Party. He retained an active interest in politics until his death.

In 2002 he was recognized for his work in the community when he received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.

Morrison Mc Vea will be remembered by all who knew him, not only for his leadership but also for his handshake of steel! He will be missed by family and friends around the world.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of John Morrison McVea will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00am. at Gordon Presbyterian Church, 7457 Edmonds Street, Burnaby.
