With two of his loving grandchildren at his side, our beloved John passed away in his favorite place; his home in New Westminster. Born in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan, he was the seventh child of Pierre and Marie Campagne, and of his three sisters and six brothers he is survived by his brother Marcel. Predeceased in 2016 by his wife Alberta Mary Campagne (Benninger) he leaves behind 6 children: Loanne (Jim), John (Miriam), Michael (Miriam), Cathy (Craig), Pierre (Tina) and Marie (Eran). He will be forever missed by his daughter-in-law Hildie and his sixteen grandchildren: Nicole (Connell), Cori, Melissa (Adrian), Aryn, Daniel, Brianna (Ken), Jordan, Jacob, Nicholas, Cullin, Tal, Rachel, Zachary, Madeline, Shawn, and Yuval and by his two great grandchildren, Owen and Sebastian. John said on several occasions that “his children were his greatest accomplishment” and took pride in the family he and Alberta created. He loved St Michael’s Catholic Church, his caring neighbours, his house and backyard orchard, tennis, boating, playing bridge, and most of all hosting family events like Thanksgiving and his annual summer party at Spanish Banks. John was generous, kind, and loved life. The family will forever be grateful to Michael and Cathy for assuming the role of primary caregivers in his final years, doing all they could to ensure John had quality of life until the end. We would also like to extend a very special thank-you to Dr Rakhra and Dr Jain, who developed a strong bond with our father and ensured he always received the best of care. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday evening, April 3, at 6:00 p.m. and a Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby, BC.
