It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of John Francis Morris. John passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023, at Burnaby General Hospital in Burnaby, British Columbia. John was in his 86th year.

Son of the late Stephen Morris and the late Frances Hayes, John was the brother of Carmel (late James Harrington), and Donna-Marie (late Lawrence Matte), he was predeceased by his sisters Norma (late Michael Sullivan), Helen and Maureen, and his brother, Wallace “Wally” Morris.

He is dearly missed by his wife, Diva (Migrino) Morris, his two sons, James and Sean, daughter-in-law, Ryoko (Jennifer), and his 3 grandkids, Taiga, Rio and Aili. His nieces Gail, Bianca, and Alison and nephews Jerry (late), Michael, Greg, Stephen, Nicholas, and Jason, his great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

John Francis Morris was born in Pembroke Ontario on January 21st, 1937, and raised in Sheenboro Quebec, 5th of 7 siblings. John lived a life of adventure, leaving home at age 10, he worked at a priest's house while continuing his studies at the local elementary school. He continued his studies at St. Patrick College and worked as a bookkeeper. He joined the Army before moving to Vancouver in early 1960. His ultimate destination was Australia, but met his future wife, Diva Migrino, while skating at one of the local rinks in the Vancouver area.

He continued to work as a bookkeeper for Inland Floors in the 70s, eventually taking over the company in August 1972. John continued in the flooring business until 2016 when he decided to retire. Throughout the years John was always known as someone that would lend a helping hand.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made to Covenant House of Vancouver. Funeral services will be held on June 7th, 2023, at 11am at Holy Cross Parish. Interment will be at the Garden of Gethsemani Cemetery in Surrey.
