It is with the greatest sadness we announce the loss of our beloved wife, best friend, mother, and grandmother - Johanna Walcott (née Prosser).
Predeceased by brother Ferdinand (Barbara), she leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Peter, her children Kristina (Marek) and Alexander (Kathleen), granddaughter Amelia, sister Maria, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends in Canada, Austria, Australia, and the United States. Johanna, always elegant, kind, and generous, was a woman of many achievements and passions. Born in Mayrhofen, Austria, Johanna came to Canada in 1956, determined to become a stewardess. As with anything she set her mind to do, she did, first working for Trans Canada Airlines and then later Air Canada. Having studied languages, she was fluent in German, English, and French.
During a flight to Barbados, she met her soulmate, Peter. They married and lived in Toronto until Peter’s career took them west to British Columbia, where she focused on raising her two children and the family business. An avid reader, traveler, and lifelong learner, she continued to inspire us until the end.
Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. She was our everything, and she will forever be in our hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Peter’s Church, New Westminster, on April 11th, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. followed by a burial at Robinson Memorial Cemetery, Coquitlam, BC. Reception to follow at the Walcott Family Home.
