With sad tears and epic sorrow, the Dowdeswell Family announces the passing of Jocelyn.
She left us quietly in the company of close family.
Her departure comes as a great loss to us all. For those she touched, her absence will endure for generations. For those she never met, the chance to be in her radiance is now sadly dashed.
Joce lived a beautiful lifestyle of love, friendship and joy for those in her shining presence. She chose to understand each of us differently, listen to our own pains and share our burden. Often, regardless of where we were, she’d surprise us with thoughtful reminders that told us that she had us in her heart. Her selfless approach to circumstance resolved her to be a Guardian of our own causes.
May we each take a page from her book of life and continue to look out for each other in times of bad and good. With Joce, the Sun is always shining.
Joce, we will forever miss your smile, your insatiable laugh and your graceful and charming wit. Thank you for all the time you gave to share with all of us.
Jocelyn is survived by her parents, Ian and Frances, her sister, Jennifer (Tomas Nielsen), her brothers, Jonathan, Jason, Justin (Suzanne), and Russell (Nancy), her nieces, Athena and Aurora, and her nephews, Derek and Robin.
A “Celebration of Jocelyn’s Life” will be held at 1pm on April 3rd 2011. Email celebrationofjocelyn@gmail.com for more details.
In lieu of flowers, her family would be honoured by donations made in Jocelyn’s name to “Chance to Dance” trust. The Dowdeswells are sincerely grateful for the valiant efforts of the ER and ICU staff at St. Paul’s Hospital.
