Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend entered Eternal Life with her family by her side. Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Dr. Rodney Thomas Irving in 2011, loving partner of 57 years, by her parents Joseph Lorente and Evelyn Lorente (nee Mann) and her three brothers David, Gerald and Arthur.
Survived by her four children Peter, Paul (Janice), Mary-Louise and Mary-Ann (Karen) and 13 grandchildren: Caitlin, Nicole, Kathleen, Brendan, Ben, Jamieson, Erin, Kelly, Shannon, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Avery and Blake as well as great-granddaughter Nevaeh.
Born in Hull, QC, she was raised and educated in the Ottawa area, graduating from the Notre Dame Convent School in 1947 and in 1948, from Willis Business College. She worked as Executive Secretary to General F. Worthington for many years until she married Rodney and moved to Vancouver B.C. to begin her life as a physician’s wife.
A deeply religious person, her strong faith sustained her throughout her life, which was dedicated to her family, especially her children and later, her grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event, a recital or a graduation and was always the biggest supporter of her family members’ achievements. Her love and support was unfailing and enduring, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends alike.
Prayer vigil to be held Tuesday August 15th, 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Church, 3900 Arthur Drive, Delta, B.C. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday August 16th at 11am. Interment to follow with her beloved Rodney at St Peter’s Cemetery, New Westminster BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Covenant House, 1280 Seymour Street, Vancouver, B.C.
