In Loving Memory of Jin Rong Xu
(September 25, 1933-November 12, 2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Jin Rong Xu, 91, who peacefully departed this life on November 12th, 2024 at Vancouver Dogwood Lodge Hospice.
Jin Rong was born on September 25th, 1933 in Zhejiang Jiashan, China to Gen De Xu and Zhu Ya Jiang, a man of deep kindness, unwavering strength, and boundless love, he dedicated his life to his family and community.
Jin Rong was a professional translator/interpreter, known for Chinese/English translation of UN documents, participating in editing English-Chinese Metallurgical Dictionary, and interpreting for various official delegations. He was a guiding light, teaching us the importance of grit, honesty, and good work ethic. He is survived by daughters Ying and Dan, granddaughter Sarah Mathews, great grandson Zachary Mathews, sisters: Wen Ying Xu and Di Ying Xu, brother Jin Tao Xu. He was predeceased by wife Yu Xu and brother Jin Shou Xu.
Jin Rong will always be remembered for his humor, smile, warmth, kindness and gentleness. His legacy of love and resilience lives on in all who knew him. Dad, you will forever remain in our hearts. Your love, wisdom, and memories are treasures we will carry always.
