Jessie (Justina Pacholuk) Topolewski

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Jessie Topolewski of New Westminster, B.C. on February 19, 2025.

Jessie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, whose warmth, generosity, kindness and love has left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Born in Sclater, Manitoba where she met her one and only love, Nicholas Topolewski. They were married for almost 70 years before Nick passed away in 2016. Jessie loved to spend time with family and friends, at the age of 98 she still lived at home and it was a gathering place for all who sought comfort, a word of encouragement or a quiet moment of wisdom. Her spirit of hospitality and love will never be forgotten. She will be remembered for her strength, her ability to listen with empathy, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a great sense of humor and a flare for fashion. Jessie had a special relationship with all her children, she used to say she loved us all and we were all unique, in her final days we were able to share stories of how she interacted with us one on one, we laughed and we cried. Jessie is survived by her children Elaine and Garwin Willson, Larry Topolewski, Sandy and Darwin Throne, Dennis and Kim Topolewski, her grandchildren, Sam and Charlene Willson, Sarah and Tanner Murray, Christy Topolewski and husband Jeff Hancock. Clorissa and Colin Herman, Marty Topolewski and Nicholas Topolewski, her great-grandchildren, Scott Willson, Jack Willson, George Willson, Nash Murray, Jonas Hancock, Cohen Herman, Blake Topolewski and Owen Topolewski, she was known to all as “Gigi”.

She is survived by sisters Rose Gashermann, Ede Anaka and brother and sister-in-law David and Isabell Pacholuk, brother and sister-in-law Joe and Joan Topolewski, sister-in-law Josephine Topolewski. She is mourned by many dear friends and extended family members, she loved you all. We find comfort knowing that Jessie is in heaven once again reunited with Nick.
