Born to David and Margaret Lightbody of New Westminster on December 14, 1926, Jennie Brown Bromley was a loving presence in an extensive circle of family and friends. She recently celebrated 64 years of marriage to her beloved Henry and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, a treasured aunt and valued friend. Family meant everything to Mom and she embraced each new addition and rejoiced as the family circle expanded. Her other interests included a life-long involvement with First Presbyterian Church, the Sons of Scotland Thistle Club where she made friendships that lasted over 65 years, and also the Vintage Car Club and bowling, which is where she met Henry in 1948. Her family dinners and desserts were legendary and her infectious giggle and skill with her violin will be remembered by all who enjoyed her company.
Jennie passed away on October 17, 2014, leaving her cherished husband Henry and her children David and Evelyn, Jim and Heidi, Sandy and Christina, and Rob and Kathy to their memories. She is remembered with enduring love by her grandchildren: Shaun, Chelsea, Karen
and Luke, Michael and Alannah, Stephen, and Shannon and lives on in the hearts of her sisters-in-law, Jeanne, Jean and her husband Ken, Olive, Marjorie and Gerry and a multitude of nieces and nephews, especially the Ingrams: Elizabeth, Charlie, Robin, Bill, Janet and their families. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret, Margaret’s husband Bill, and by her brother Sandy.
