Husband, Father, Scientist (Mad), Mr. Fix-it.
Born in Chilliwack, BC to Irish immigrant parents and raised on a dairy farm, Jim, from a young age, had an insatiable interest in how anything works. He completed his Master's of Chemistry at UBC and PHD at the University of London, England. Throughout his life he worked as a research scientist, a teacher, and pursued his passion of tinkering, outdoor adventures, fixing old Citroens and anything else that broke.
Jim leaves behind his wife Ophelia; daughters Zora and Megan (Phil); grandchildren Darren, Andreas and Devan; nieces and nephews.
Jim will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed as a husband, father, go to guy and worthy debate opponent.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, April 29th, 2017 at Jim and Lee's home in Coquitlam.
