James passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, November 14th, 2017 at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC at the age of 72.

James had a long career as a recording engineer at CBC Radio Canada in both Toronto and Vancouver.

He is survived by his brother, Dr. Lloyd Reid and wife Lynda, sister Catherine Doty, sister Susan Riches and husband Jeff Riches. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Dorothy Reid (nee Duff), brother-in-law Lance Doty and nephew Alan Riches.

James is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Heather, Ken, Suzanne, Ian, Emily and Mark.

The family would like to thank the staff in the palliative care unit of St. Paul's Hospital for their loving care for the last weeks of his life.
