Isabelle passed away from complications arising during a hospital stay after years of striving to keep mobile despite mounting health challenges.
She was predeceased by her husband Edmond and her children Bill and Adele, her brother Paul Cournoyer and his wife Minnie.
She is survived by her son Richard Bougie (wife Kristine), daughter Elaine Bougie Gilligan (partner Gord McCaw), grandson Robin Bougie (wife Rebecca Dart), brother Dan Cournoyer (wife Thérèse), their children and grandchildren, aunt Gabrielle Tellier, nephews and nieces of the Bougie family and their children, and her close friend in long-term care, Richard Henderson.
Isabelle passed to her family a love of music and reading, and will be long remembered for her courage in coping with the tragic loss of her younger children. In her middle years, she and Ed forged strong bonds with a circle of supportive friends, enjoying regular get-togethers at home and travel to conferences including Hawaii. She greatly loved her children and family and revelled in life’s quiet beauties.
