Irene Kubot Larochelle Bystrowski

August 15, 1960 — February 4, 2025

Surrey, BC

It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Irene Kubot Larochelle Bystrowski on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at the age of sixty-four. Beloved daughter of Zofia Kubot and the late Mieczyslaw Kubot. Cherished wife of Stanislaw Bystrowski. Dear mother of Paul (Jocelyn) and Neil Bystrowski. Beloved sister of Andy Kubot (Precious). Proud grandmother of Riley, Abbegale, Aubrey, Quinn, and Brinnley. Loving Aunt of Trevor and Tyler. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

For most of her career as an Accountant, Irene worked in the Tourism and Hospitality industry (37 years). She was a social butterfly and later returned to work at Save-On-Foods (five years), as she enjoyed connecting with others and serving the community.

Irene instilled in her family a love and respect for life, including simple values: be a hard worker, be family oriented, and always maintain a clean and orderly home. Those who knew her well, endearingly called her, “Clean-ey Irene-ey”.

Irene loved to host. Whether it was for a quick visit or a family gathering, Irene’s Polish upbringing always came out when feeding and entertaining guests. And then, when preparing to leave, she followed the traditional Polish goodbye, which has many phases: First the casual “ok, it’s time to leave” conversation in the kitchen with hugs, then some time later, the good-bye at the front door, followed by another outside the front door, then another before you get into the vehicle, then another when in the vehicle with the car started, then another as you’re backing out of the drive way, and then lastly, as you drive off waving. This tradition was lovingly accepted and followed by all who visited.

Although one could speak about her many passions, such as the dogs she loved and raised (Max, Nikki, Zoe), maintaining the garden and lawn, and spending time with friends at social gatherings, one of her greatest passions was her Grandchildren.

You could always count on Irene to make people feel special – she always remembered birthdays and special events. She made efforts to regularly make phone calls, send text messages and share pictures. She was known to share proud moments of her life with all those whom she knew and met. She truly cherished the children in her life.

The sparkle in Irene’s eye and the kindness of her heart will be sorely missed

Irene’s service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 14th at Saint Casimir’s Parish, 1187 East 27th Avenue, where she was baptized, attended Church, and will be laid to rest.
