Our beloved Mother, Oma, and Aunt, Ida passed away peacefully on April 18, 2013. Ida lived a life filled with family and after 85 years she continued to cherish the company of her daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born in Wiederzug Yugoslavia December 23, 1927 she arrived in Vancouver with her mother and two sisters in 1952 and soon after married Erwin, her husband of 50 years, who had followed her from Austria. They raised their family surrounded by a bountiful garden that she tended with love. Dances at the Austrian Club, sitting with her sisters, small travels, and welcoming everyone to share her home and garden are cherished memories. Ida was predeceased by husband Erwin Radl , her brother Albert Stritzel, sisters Maria Piendl and Rosa Moschner, and aunt and uncle Elsa and Karl Kremser. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Sylvia May (Brian) and Irene Keen, grandsons Aaron, Christopher, Cameron and Zachary, brother-in-law Richard Piendl, and sisters-in-law in Austria Sophie Stritzel and Trudi Senekowitsch and dearly remembered by nieces and nephews Rosemarie, Rick, Edwin, Christine, and cousins Elfie, Christa and Erwin and all their children and families.
A service in celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30 am at St Casimir's Catholic Church - 1187 27th Ave. E, Vancouver. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby at 12:00. Online book of condolences available at www. kearneyfs.com
