Born May 23rd, 1955 passed away peacefully holding his wife's hand at the George Pearson Centre in Vancouver Sept 8th, 2013. He is survived by his wife Maria (Sawka) and three children, Shannon (Pete), Ian (Jocie) and Brendan, mother Kitty, brother Liam (Kathy, niece Sarah and nephew Conor) and other family members. Ian is predeceased by his father John, uncle Jim Sharkey, Aunt Sally Gribble and other family members.
Ian was born in Greenock, Scotland where he graduated from college as a Naval Architect. Ian moved to Canada in 1978 and worked as a ship builder in North Vancouver and New Westminster. He made a career switch to BC Tel (now Telus) in 1990. He will always be loved, missed and remembered by all and his sense of humor will never be forgotten.

A Funeral Mass and reception to celebrate Ian's life to be held Friday, Sept. 13th at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Parish, 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby, BC. Donations in memory of Ian to a charity of your choice are gratefully appreciated.
