Surrounded with much love and support from his family, Al Westfall passed away peacefully at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital. Al lived most of his life in Vancouver, where he met Alice, his loving wife of nearly 62 years. First working for Finning Tractor as a heavy duty mechanic flying into coastal BC logging camps, eventually he found his true calling as an instructor in heavy duty mechanics at BCIT. He helped many students from around the province start their careers in this field. Al loved restoring classic cars, playing golf, and family camping vacations in the Okanagan. He always had a boat. A kind and caring man, he will be deeply missed by Alice, son Alan (Cathy), daughters Leanne (Sven), Janice (Mike), Valerie (Dave), grandchildren Alison, Monica, Max, Rebecca, Aaron and Kailey, and extended family. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 11 at 10 am at Corpus Christi Church, 6350 Nanaimo St., Vancouver. Internment to follow at Gardens of Gethsemani Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to Parkinson Society BC.
