On June 25th, we lost our father Hong Suey Mah, and the world lost a great man. From humble beginnings, he built a successful life at an early age beginning with the Cathayan Restaurant, and later Town and Country Furniture in Edmonton, Alberta. Hong moved on to do many other things after these endeavours, often taking up the learning of businesses that fed his curiosities. He was a mentor to so many, sharing his life experiences and mastery of so many things. He relocated to Vancouver in 1999, where he began his retirement, and continued his zest for life. He always had a great story, and could educate us all with his knowledge of politics, history, religion, current events and the wisdom of life. He leaves behind his 3 children, Laura, Greg (Sid) and Moy (Doug); his grandchildren Mandi (Heng) and Greg (Jasmine) and his great grandchildren Taylor, Parker and Georgia. He was predeceased by his son in law Bill (Laura). At his request there will be no service and the family encourages all to self reflect on the impact he had on you personally.
